Referendum is the producer and founding member of the swiss abstract hip-hop duo Reverse Engineering.

In 2014 Alain Decrevel created a personal new electronic music project called REFERENDUM.
His compositions mix without hesitation organic and electronic sounds to the noise of machines. All is put in movement by compact rhythms marked by implacable melodies. This fusion gives birth to a universe at times heavy, mechanical and bewitching.

Together with David Pieffet he formed the swiss duo Reverse Engineering in 2002, distiling an abstract hip-hop sound in the line of the British labels Mo’ Wax, Ninja Tune or Warp. As a group they released 2 albums and EP’s on the French label Jarring Effects. They collaborated with internationally known artists such as Blu Rum 13, Mike Ladd, B. Dolan or Diyala and performed more than a hundred shows while sharing stages with artists such as Amon Tobin, Modeselektor, Dj Krush, DJ Vadim, DJ Food, AntiPop Consortium, The Herbaliser, Mira Calix, Unkle, Puppettmastaz, Birdy Nam Nam and many more.
