Michael Anklin is a drummer, electronic musician and producer whose work is situated at the intersection of electronic music and experimental sound art. He uses a wide range of sound sources, including prepared drums, traditional percussion instruments, field recordings and analogue synthesizers, as well as self-constructed instruments and sound objects. A central characteristic of his work is the use of real-time sound manipulation and transformation, blurring the boundaries between acoustic, analogue and digital sound sources and creating an organic texture and complex, interactive sound spaces. As an artist, Anklin works in a variety of formats – from solo projects and interdisciplinary collaborations to music production for theatre, dance and audiovisual works.
